AM Suitability Analysis –
How it works

From upload to verified report – structured, transparent and confidential.

How the analysis works

From choosing an analysis type to receiving a structured report – five clearly defined steps.

1

Choose analysis type

Select your material area – Metal AM or Polymer AM – and decide between the automated Check and the individual Expert Review.

2

Submit part data

Upload your part geometry and add relevant details such as material, application, and specific requirements.

3

Complete order

Review your order summary and complete the payment. The analysis starts immediately after.

4

Part analysis

Your part is assessed for AM suitability. The Expert Review additionally includes an in-depth technical classification.

5

Quality review & report

The report is reviewed by an AM expert for consistency and clarity, then delivered to you by email.

Automated AM Suitability Check
Standardised + expert control
Max. 2 business days
typically within 24 hours
Individual Expert Review
In-depth analysis
Max. 5 business days
typically 2–3 business days
STL STEP / STP 3MF IGES / IGS OBJ

For best analysis quality we recommend STEP or STL.

Confidential handling of your data

Your part geometries, CAD data, and technical details are used exclusively for the analysis. All transfers are encrypted. For confidential projects, please contact us before uploading. An NDA can be arranged if required.

What the report contains

The analysis report is not a manufacturability guarantee – it is a structured technical orientation framework for your next step.

AM suitability

Clear statement on the part's fundamental suitability for additive manufacturing – with reasoning.

Identified risks

Geometry issues, process risks, post-processing requirements, and potential quality concerns.

Process recommendation

Assessment of LPBF as the primary process. Alternative AM processes (e.g. DED, WAAM) are considered in the Expert Review if required.

Assessment of FDM/FFF as the primary process. Alternative AM processes (e.g. SLS, MJF, SLA/DLP) are considered in the Expert Review if required.

Economic context

Where relevant and where sufficient data is available, a rough economic comparison with conventional manufacturing processes is included.

Optimisation potential

Notes on design adjustments that can improve AM suitability or reduce costs.

Next steps

Concrete recommendations on what makes sense before requesting a manufacturing quote.
